PM Modi To Flag Off Eight Trains Connecting Statue Of Unity Site To Other Parts Of India

New Delhi, January 17 (TNA) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be flagging off eight special trains linking the Statue Of Unity, Kevadia in Gujarat on Sunday, an official said.

The Statue Of Unity has become a huge draw with domestic and foreign tourists and hence it was felt that better rail connectivity was required, it was further informed.

With this objective eight trains would be on Sunday linked with the tourist hotspot. The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home minister of independent India and adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement. It is 240 metres tall.
