Air, Rail And Vehicular Traffic Hit As Fog Envelops North India
New Delhi, January 4 (TNA) Rail, air and vehicular traffic has been hit badly over the weekend in many parts of north India as dense fog blanketed the region. According to reports more than 150 trins are running behind schedule and many flights have been affected at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the union capital.
Visibility in many parts dropped to zero. Road traffic also moved at a snail’s pace as commuters struggled to navigate through the thick fog cover. Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), in a post on X at 12.05 am, said due to dense fog, flight operations have been affected at the airport.
"Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," DIAL posted. Flight operations were affected at the Delhi airport in the early morning due to thick fog. IndiGo announced that it has temporarily put departures and arrivals on hold due to the weather conditions.
Road traffic in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana moved at a snail’s pace as commuters struggled to navigate through the thick fog cover.
