Brutal Beheading in Texas: Indian American Community Demands Accountability for Chandra Nagamallaiah’s Death
Dallas, September 13 (TNA) Indian-origin motel manager Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah was brutally beheaded in Dallas, Texas, by co-worker Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban national with a violent record who was released from ICE custody earlier this year after Cuba refused his deportation.
The shocking attack occurred at the Downtown Suites motel, reportedly sparked by a workplace argument, and was witnessed by Nagamallaiah’s wife and teenage son, who tried in vain to protect him. The suspect has been arrested and charged with capital murder; U.S. authorities have initiated deportation proceedings.
The crime has sparked outrage and calls for “Justice for Chandra Nagamallaiah” across the Indian diaspora and U.S. immigrant communities, with a fundraiser for his family collecting nearly USD 200,000. The Consulate General of India in Houston is supporting the bereaved family, as mourners prepare for Nagamallaiah’s funeral and demand stronger action against violent offenders and policy reform
