Samajwadi Party Writes To Election Commission, Seeks Live Webcast Of Vote Count Tomorrow

Lucknow, March 9 (TNA) The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Wednesday wrote to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that vote counting on March 10 in Uttar Pradesh was webcast live across all the 75 districts. In a letter to the poll panel, the SP has said this was necessary to ensure that the counting process was free and fair and that there was not an iota of doubt in the minds of the people.

SP had on Tuesday levelled serious charges of returning officers of different district including Sonbhadra and Varanasi alleging that the DM’s were trying to tamper EVM’s and influence the outcome of the long-drawn state assembly polls in favour of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The EC had trashed such accusations after detailed reports and clarifications were sent by the concerned officers.
