Priyanka Gandhi Promises Smart Phones For Inter Pass Girls, Electric Scooties If Voted To Power In UP

Lucknow, Oct 21 (TNA) Congress national general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday made a big announcement and said that if her party is voted to power in Uttar Pradesh in the forthcoming state assembly elections, Inter pass girls will get smartphones and graduate girls will get electric scooty.

After the announcement of giving tickets to 40 percent women in the upcoming assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh, Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi this is another big-ticket bet the Congress leader has played in the run up to the crucial polls scheduled for early next year.

Priyanka Gandhi wrote on her Twitter handle: "Yesterday I met some girl students. They told me that they need a smartphone for reading and security. I am happy that today with the consent of the announcement committee, UP Congress has decided that if the government is formed, Inter pass girls will be given smartphones and graduate girls will be given electric scooties."

Congress, which has been out of power in UP for nearly three decades, has been trying hard to galvanise the moribund party organisation and pitch up the tempo for the state assembly polls.
