Congress Names Eight More Candidates For Lok Sabha Polls In UP, State Chief Ajay Rai To Run Against PM Modi In Varanasi

Lucknow, March 24 (TNA) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has released the list of 46 more candidates who will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Of these 8 are from Uttar Pradesh. Imran Masood has been fielded by the party from Saharanpur in western UP while Danish Ali, another BSP turncoat, has been given a ticket from Amroha. Ram Nath Sikarwar has been pitted from Fatehpur Sikri while Alok Mishra has been made the candidate from Kanpur.

Former union minister Pradeep Jain Aditya has been named from Jhansi parliamentary constituency while Akhilesh Pratap Singh is the party candidate from Deoria. Tanul Punia, son of senior party leader and former bureaucrat PL Punia, is the candidate from Barabanki, neighbouring Lucknow. Sadan Prasad has been fielded from the reserved Bansgaon seat while part’s state unit president Ajai Rai has been fielded yet again from Varanasi where he will contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is seeking a third term from Varanasi.
