BJP Loses Another Legislator, Mukesh Verma From Firozabad Quits

Lucknow, January 13 (TNA) After days of desertions by two of its cabinet minister and over half a dozen legislators, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suuffered another setback on Wednesday when its Shikohabad MLA Dr Mukesh Verma quit the party.

In a letter to the state BJP president, Swatantra Dev Singh, the lawmaker has almost copied the words and charges used by Swamy Prasada Maurya for leaving BJP. He said that the BJP has been ignoring the small traders, Dalits, small traders and that he was feeling dejected being in the party.

Verma is a doctor by profession and holds MBBS and MS degrees. He was a general surgeon before taking a leap into politics. He is considered close to Swamy Prasad Maurya who quit the party two days back.
