Seven Injured As Stage Collapses During PM Modi’s Road Show In Jabalpur

Jabalpur, April 8 (TNA) Seven people sustained injuries after a stage they were standing on during the road show of Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Sunday, caved in due to overcrowding. According to information, massive crowds had thronged both sides of the road from where the cavalcade of Modi was to pass. In the melee, more people climbed atop two big tables and it came down crashing in the Gorakhpur area.

Many people were injured in this accident. Among the injured, four people including a girl and a policeman suffered fractures, while three women suffered minor injuries. More people than capacity had climbed the stage to get a glimpse of PM Modi. Although the police were trying to convince them, people kept climbing the stage forcefully and after that, this accident happened.

During Prime Minister Modi's road show, a huge crowd of party workers and people gathered on the streets. During this time, people holding photo banners of PM Modi and the party raised slogans like Abki ‘Baar, Char Sau Paar’ and 'Jai Shri Ram'. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi was greeting people with folded hands. As soon as the incident happened and the PM took note of it, he dispatched senior party leaders to oversee the treatment of the injured.

Following this, senior party leader and PWD Minister in the MAdhya Pradesh government, Rakesh Singh went to the medical facility where they were being treated and enquied about thier health.
