Rouse Avenue Court Reserves Order On Complaint Against Sonia Gandhi Over Alleged Forgery For Voter List Enrollment

New Delhi, September 10 (TNA) The Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday reserved its order in the complaint against Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi over alleged forgery for enrollment in the voter list. The court reserved the order after a certain query.

Senior Advocate Counsel for the complainant, Anil Soni, said: “Sonia Gandhi took Indian citizenship in 1983, but got registered as a voter in 1980. We have filed a petition against this in the court…”.

He added that though her voter ID got cancelled in 1982 due to the uproar in Parliament, it was restored in 1983 before she got registered as an Indian citizen, which means she had her vote in India twice before being a citizen…”.

The advocate counsel further stated that “she must have given some undertakings and proofs to become a voter... We want this to be investigated.”.
