New Delhi, August 1 (TNA) After a brief slowdown, the monsoon has regained strength and is once again drenching various parts of the country. While several regions are enjoying much-needed rainfall, others are grappling with excessive showers causing flood-like situations and public inconvenience. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), consistent rainfall has brought down temperatures, offering relief from the scorching heat.

For the first week of August (1–7), IMD has issued heavy rainfall alerts for multiple states. In Delhi, light showers will continue with occasional gusty winds over the next seven days. Rajasthan is expected to witness significant rainfall from August 1 and again between August 3–7, with strong winds and thunderstorms in some districts.

States like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir are likely to receive heavy downpours, accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Southern and coastal states—including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh,

Karnataka, Telangana, and Lakshadweep—may experience intense rains from August 2–6. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Saurashtra, and Konkan will also see heavy showers and thunderstorms through the first week of August. Northeast and central India, including Assam, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, will continue to witness intermittent heavy rainfall.
