Instagram Poll By Political Consultancy Polstrat Gives Thumbs Up To Shashi Tharoor For Congress Prez

Lucknow, Oct 18 (TNA) While there are still 24-hours for the suspense to end on who will take over the reins of India’s grand old party - the Indian National Congress (INC), a poll conducted among its readers by Political Startegy company Polstrat has given a thumbs up to Shashi Tharoor.

According to the poll conducted by the Noida-based consultancy, over 61% voters of Instagram have picked the former UN diplomat as their preferred choice for the post of Congress prez. 39% respondents have voted for the Gandhi loyalist Mallikarjun Kharge who is been otherwise seen as a frontrunner for the top post, largely due to the “unofficial official choice” of 10, Janpath.

Around 9000 delgates voted on Monday and the results are to be announced after a vote count on Thursday. Many prominent leaders including Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, her daughter and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Acharya Pramod Krishnam had voted in the poll process.
