Robbers Arrested After Gun Battle With Delhi Police, Bulletproof Vest Saves Life Of Head Constable

New Delhi, July 11 (TNA) A big success came the way of the West Delhi Police on Sunday after two miscreants who had robbed a house recently were arrested after a gun battle.

When the police came close to both of them, they opened fire. In response, the policemen also opened fire. One miscreant got shot in this encounter but his condition is stable.

According to the information, on July 7, a robbery took place in G block of Uttam Nagar, where 4 miscreants posing as employees of the electricity department went inside the property dealer's house. As soon as they ere inside the house, they whipped out a pistol and robbed the family on gun point.

The accused have been identified as Ankush and Mukul and have been taken into custody and they are being interrogated.

They later tied the hands and feet of all the people present in the house with tape and decamped with all the valuables in the house. They however failed to realise that the crime was being recorded on the CCTV.

A special team was stitched up and on Sunday they received a tip-off that the miscreants would come to DDA Road in Uttam Nagar.

When two of the robbers arrived by bike, the police asked them to stop but they opened fire. A bullet hit the head constable Rajkumar, but the bulletproof jacket he was wearing saved his life by a whisker.
