US President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump Test COVID Positive, Quarantined In The White House

WASHINGTON || The country to be worst hit by the Coronavirus received yet another jolt on Friday as the US president Donald Trump and his wife Melania tested positive for

COVID-19.

US President Donald Trump early Friday informed the world through his official Twitter handle that he and First Lady Melania had tested positive for the coronavirus.

"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!," Trump said. The couple will quarantine "within the White House", the White House doctor was quoted by the media as saying.

Trump had late on Thursday said that he would go into quarantine after a top aide Hope Hicks tested positive for Coronavirus. The developments are likely to unsettle the Presidential campaign of Trump who is seeking a re-election to the White House for a second straight term.

Hicks was traveling with Trump on Air Force One just this Tuesday to fly to Cleveland for the first presidential debate with Democrat Joe Biden.

She was also with him on the Marine One helicopter Wednesday when he flew back to the White House after a rally in Minnesota.
