Nagpur, October 4 (TNA) City-based hotelier Javed Akhtar, 55, and his wife Nadira Gulshan, 47, tragically died in a road accident on October 2, 2025, near Grosseto in Tuscany, Italy. The family was travelling in a nine-seater tourist minibus on a sightseeing trip when a truck collided with their vehicle after hitting a broken-down van on the Aurelia state road.

Both Javed and Nadira, who owned the popular Gulshan Plaza Hotel near Sitabuldi flyover in Nagpur, along with the minibus driver, died on the spot. Their three children—Arzoo (25), Shifa (21), and Jazel (15)—sustained critical injuries and are undergoing treatment in hospitals across Grosseto, Florence, and Siena.

The Indian Embassy in Italy confirmed the accident and is assisting the family, while Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis coordinated with the embassy for repatriation and medical support.
