Joe Biden Picks His Cabinet, Antony Blinken To Be Next US Secretary of State

Washington, Nov 24 (TNA) President elect Joe Biden has announced his picks for the cabinet, media reports say. His close adviser Antony Blinken will join his cabinet as the next secretary of state. Jake Sullivan, formerly one of Hillary Clinton's aides, has been named national security adviser.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Biden has also selected former Fed Chair Janet Yellen for Treasury secretary, which would make her the first woman to hold the position.

Other senior staffers announced include former secretary of state John Kerry as Climate Envoy and Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who served as the top US diplomat overseeing African affairs in the Obama administration, as UN ambassador.
