Explosion Near Madarsa Kills Seven In Pakistan's Peshawar

PESHAWAR || A massive explosion ripped a busy place near a Madarsa in Pakistan's Peshawar on Tuesday, reports say. Initial reports suggest that the blast that took place in the Dir Colony near a Madarsa has left seven dead and more than 70 children injured.

The injured have been rushed to a nearby medical facility. Many of them are reported to be in critical condition, reports in the Pakistani media suggest.

The reason behind the blast is not clear yet. Police officers who have reached the blast spot are probing all angles in the incident. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Chief Sanaullah Abbasi and SSP Mansoor Aman have confirmed the blast.

Spokesperson of the LR Hospital, where the injured have been taken, has been quoted by the media as saying so far 7 bodies and more than 70 injured have been brought.
