London, December 26 (TNA) The British government has relaxed visa rules for social care workers and employees coming from other countries including India. Employees in this category will soon be eligible for a British health and care visa for 12 months. The government has taken this temporary step in view of the acute shortage of employees in this sector.

In the UK, Indian-origin Home Minister Priti Patel said, "This is our new plan for immigration that reflects our commitment to support the National Health Plan (NHS) and the wider health and care sector." The scheme will help improve living and working conditions for health professionals in the UK.
