Army Man Killed In Celebratory Firing In Wedding At Unnao

Unnao, February 6 (TNA) Celebrations turned into mourning at a wedding in a village of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening when a man was killed in the celebratory firing, police said on Sunday. The victim has been identified as a trooper of the Indian Army.

According to information available, the wedding procession of Rajnesh, resident of Pituwakheda village of Thana area, was going to Lalganj in Rae Bareli district. 35-year-old Ujjwal Kumar, a resident of Yashwant Kheda, who was posted in the army was part of the procession when Rajendra, a resident of Madhai Kheda village of Sareni police station area, opened fire in the midst of the song and dance.

Ujjwal got hit and was seriously injured. People immediately took him to the government hospital in Sumerpur. From where he was sent to Lucknow but he died on the way. The accused is absconding and a team has been constituted to nab him. SP Dinesh Tripathi and ASP Shashi Shekhar Singh said efforts were on to nab the accused. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
