Yogi Dials Mulayam, Mayawati And Akhilesh To Personally Invite Them For His Swearing-in
Lucknow, March 25 (TNA) Ahead of his swearing-in as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second straight term on Friday, CM designate, Yogi Adityanath dialled three former chief ministers of the state to personally invite them for his swearing in. According to sources, the saffron-robed politician rang up SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and extended an invite to attend the event.
He then called up the four-time chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati whose party fared badly in the recent state assembly election and got only one of the 403 assembly seats. Arch rival Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief who used some derogatory words against Yogi during the election campaign was also called personally by Adityanath.
Only recently in Azamgarh, Yadav had said he was not sure whether he would be invited for the swearing-in at the Ekana stadium or not and even if he was, he did not wish to join the celebrations in the saffron camp. In 2017 too, Adityanath had dialled all these three politicians but while Mayawati had not turned up, Mulayam and Akhilesh had joined.
PM Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and top BJP leaders including chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and a battery of celebrities are likely to attend the swearing in.
