Yogi-Akhilesh Equally To Be Blamed For Azam Khan's Pitiable Condition, Alleges Congress Leader

Lucknow, July 21 (TNA) Beleaguered Samajwadi Party (SP) veteran Mohd Azam Khan who was on Monday rushed to a medical facility in the state capital from the Sitapur prison, on Tuesday found support from an unexpected quarter - a senior Congress leader of the state.

Expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of the former UP minister, chairman of the UP Congress Minority Cell, Shahnawaz Alam has demanded that his family members be allowed to meet him. He also blamed both chief minister Yogi Adityanath his predecessor Akhilesh Yadav for this condition of Azam Khan.

Instead of Azam Khan, Mulayam and Ram Gopal Yadav were to be jailed for corruption but Azam Khan was sent to jail by Yadav and Sangh Parivar together as a scapegoat.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Alam said that despite not recovering completely from Corona, the Yogi government forcibly discharged him and sent him to Sitapur Jail whereas he should have been as an MP got bail or parole on humanitarian grounds. At the same time, he blamed Akhilesh Yadav for not "opposing this inhuman behaviour meted out to the SP veteran".

"He did not launch any movement for his release. In this way, Akhilesh is also involved with Yogi in this conspiracy to push Azam Khan to death. If anything untoward happens to Azam Khan, history will remember Akhilesh Yadav as a traitor and a criminal" the minority leader said further.
