Yogi Adityanath Slams Congress Over Arrest Of Arnab Goswami

LUCKNOW || Like many others leaders of the government of India and leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday lashed out at the state government of Maharashtra for the arrest of celebrated journalist Arnab Goswami. The Republic TV head was arrested earlier in the day from his home by the Mumbai Police after it reopened a 2018 case of abetted suicide.

Adityanath, in a tweet said that the arrest of Goswami was an "attack on the freedom of speech" which had been unleashed by the Congress party. It is the same party which had heaped emergency on the country and had always been hiding from truth.

The saffron-robed chief minister also said that this was yet another blatant and shameful attempt by the Congress to stifle democracy. Congress however scoffed off the crticism and said it was the double speak of the BJP and the UP chief minister under whsoe watch many journalists had been killed and many had been sent behind bars for exposing the government.
