Yogi Adityanath orders Suspension of Prayagraj SSP, Charged With Failure To Curb Crime

LUCKNOW || Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday suspended the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Prayagraj Abhishek Dixit, holding him guilty of dereliction of duty, failure to control crime and inability ot maintain law and order in the district.

Many serious charges have been levelled on him during his tenure as the district police chief of Prayagraj, a statement from the government said.

A home department official further said that the SSP has been charged of many irregularities and of promoting graft in transfer and postings. He has also been accused of failing to curb crime, specially reining in biker gangs, providing security to banking and other business establishments.
