With Seven New Ministers, UP Gains Big In Modi Cabinet Reshuffle

Lucknow, July 7 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh, the politically crucial state which goes to polls early next year was the hands down gainer in the Wednesday reshuffle of the Narendra Modi cabinet. It cornered seven slots in the central government, of which six are BJP MP's while one is from Apna Dal, a BJP ally.

The 56-year-old Pankaj Choudhary is a Lok Sabha MP for Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, serving his 6th term as MP. He has held the post of Deputy Mayor of Gorakhpur in the past. He has served in public life for over 3 decades. Choudhary is a Graduate from Gorakhpur University.

Anupriya Singh Patel (40) is a second-term Lok Sabha MP from Mirzapur. She has served as Union Minister of State for Health under PM Narendra Modi's first stint.

She has also served as an MLA in Uttar Pradesh. Prior to beginning her political career, she worked as a Professor at Amity University, and has a MBA from Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur.

Another minister sworn in today, Dr. Satya Pal Singh Baghel is a Lok Sabha MP for Agra, serving his 5th term as MP. He has served as a Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Minor Irrigation in Uttar Pradesh Government.

He has also been a MLA in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and holds a PhD in Military Science from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut and LLB from the same. He also holds a degree in MA and MSc.

Agra. The 61-year old was picked up by Mulayam and he won a Lok Sabha election, later Mayawati sent him to the Rajya Sabha and now he is BJP MP and a union minister.

Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma (63) is a Lok Sabha MP for Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh, serving his 5th term as MP. He was also an MLA in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He has served over 3 decades in public life, having started his political career in 1980s and has an MA LLB from Bundelkhand University.

Kaushal Kishore is a Lok Sabha MP for Mohanlalganj in Uttar Pradesh, is a second term MP and had recently voiced his dismay at thew ay Yogi Adityanath government handled the second wave of the pandemic. He even lost his elder brother to the virus. With his becoming a minister both Lucknow MP's - him and Rajnath Singh are now ministers in the Narendra Modi government.

Another minister who took oath today, B L Verma is a Rajya Sabha MP for Uttar Pradesh, serving his 1st term as MP. He has an MA from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi and is 59 years of age. 60-year-old Ajay Kumar is a Lok Sabha MP for Kheri and is serving his 2nd term as MP.

He has been a MLA in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Member in Kheri Zila Parishad. He holds a BSc LLB degree from Kanpur University.
