With 33,000 Passengers Riding It On Friday, Lucknow Metro Logs Yet Another Record

Lucknow, August 6 (TNA) A day after it set a milestone of a cumulative passenger ridership of 3.5 crore, Lucknow Metro added another feather to its cap when it recorded the highest number of passengers in a single day, after Unlock-2 as 33 thousand passengers traveled by Metro on Friday.

Since the resumption of Metro service in Unlock-2 from June 9, 2021, Lucknow Metro has achieved the highest daily ridership (passenger number) till date, an official said. On Friday, 33 thousand people of Lucknow chose Metro for travel. This continuous improvement in the ridership of Metro in the post-Corona conditions is a symbol of the confidence of the people of Lucknow.

On this momentous occasion, Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, said, "Like Unlock-1, this time too we are heading towards faster ridership recovery. The daily ridership of 33 thousand is more than 50 percent of the pre-Corona period. I am grateful to the people of Lucknow for this".

Earlier, on August 5, 2021, Lucknow Metro had crossed the 3.25 crore ridership number in its journey since its inception. At present, in view of Covid, all arrangements are being made to ensure safe travel at metro stations and metro trains. Special care is being taken for sanitation and physical distance for safe and easy travel.
