Volunteer Identity For COVID-19 Trial At JNMRM Aligarh To Be Kept Secret

Aligarh, Nov 20 (TNA) As volunteers line up to get the first doses in the Phase-III trials of the vaccine to cure Covid-19 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University; their identities will remain confidential in view of the social stigma related to the pandemic, an official said on Friday.

The step has been taken in line with various Supreme Court and High Court judgements on identity protection of volunteers for medical/scientific study, privacy laws, data protection laws for which provisions are made under the India Penal Code.
