Veteran Hindi Journalist Uma Shankar Tripathi ‘Daddu’ Passes Away At 72

Lucknow, December 23 (TNA) Veteran Hindi journalist Uma Shankar Tripathi passed away in the state capital on Thursday. He was 72 years and had been ailing for the past two months.

Popularly known as ‘Daddu’ amongst his colleagues and juniors, Tripathi had a long association with the Sahara Group and worked as the bureau chief for its Hindi daily Rashtriya Sahara.

His body has been kept at his Park road residence and the last rites would be performed at the Baikunth Dham crematorium at 11 am on Friday, his family informed. Several journalists have mourned the passing away of Tripathi.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has also consoled the demise of Tripathi and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
