Uttar Pradesh Ranks Number One In The Country In Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan

LUCKNOW || The Uttar Pradesh government has got 8 awards in Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan (GKRA) launched by the Union Ministry of Jalshakti, an official informed on Monday.

He further added that Uttar Pradesh has got an overall first position in the country while among the districts, Prayagraj, Hardoi and Fatehpur has bagged first, second and third ranks respectively.

In Non-GKRA category, Bareilly and Aligarh have secured first and second positions respectively. Aligarh has also received the Special Recognition award. Besides, Uttar Pradesh has also got overall second rank in implementation of Gandagi Mukt Bharat scheme. The awards will be distributed at an online ceremony on October 2, 2020.

The Government of India launched the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan initiative to tackle the impact of COVID-19 on labourers/workers in India. It is a rural public works scheme which was launched on June 2, 2020 with an initial funding of Rs 50,000 crore.
