UP Panchayat Polls: Samajwadi Party Giving Tough Fight To BJP In Trends So Far

Lucknow, May 3 (TNA) The Samajwadi Party (SP) is giving a tough fight to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the UP Panchayat polls, counting for votes of which is underway across the state on Monday.

According to the latest update, of the total 3050 district panchayat seats, trends and results are available for 788 till afternoon.

Of these the BJP is leading on 240, the Samajwadi Party on 224, Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) 77.

Of these the BJP is leading on 240, the Samajwadi Party on 224, Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) 77, Congress on 52 and others which include the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and independents are leading on 193. The counting, according to the state election commission are likely to be completed by Monday late night or Tuesday morning.
