UP Government Transfers 14 IPS Officials, SSP Agra Muniraj G Shunted Out

Lucknow, October 23 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday evening rejigged the police department and transferred 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officials. Muniraj G, the SSP of Agra has been sent to an insignificant post of SP Election Cell in Lucknow.

It is believed that he was shunted out owing to the Jagdishpura case in which Rs 25 lakh were stolen from the Maal Khana and later an accused Dalit apparently died due to police thrashing.

He has been replaced by Sudhir Kumar Singh. Anurag Arya is the new district police chief of Azamgarh while Akash Tomar has been named the SSP of Saharanpur in western UP. Anurag Vatsa has been made the SP of Barabanki and Dinesh Tripathi has been given the charge of Unnao.

Ankur Agarwal is the new superintendent of police (SP) Chandauli while Jai Prakash Singh has been given the charge of Etawah, the pocketborough of the Samajwadi Party and the home turf of the Yadav clan. S Chinappa is the new SP Security in Lucknow while Brijesh Kumar Singh has been named the SP of ATS.

Avinash Pandey is the new commandant of the 38th Battalion of the PAC, Aligarh, Yamuna Prasad is the new SP of Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) in Bareilly, Amit Kumar IInd has been made the DCP Noida Commissionerate and Akhilesh Nigam has been posted as SP Co-operative Cell.
