Their Convoy Stopped By Police, Priyanka Gandhi-Rahul Begin March On Foot To Hathras

LUCKNOW || Determined to meet the bereaved family of the Dalit girl who was gang-raped, brutally assaulted elating to her death on Tuesday, the brother-sister duo of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday afternoon began a march on foot after their cavalcade was stopped by the UP Police on its way to Hathras.

Ahead of the Congress leaders' visit, the UP administration had clamped down on large gatherings and had put up barricades at the borders citing the Coronavirus pandemic.

The convoy of the Gandhi's was intercepted at Greater Noida, some 140-km from Hathras, after which the Congress leaders decided to walk on foot.

Accompanied by slogan shouting and angry party workers, the Gandhi's walked in a security ring, quietly, with their masks on their faces, TV grabs showed. Priyanka has bene very vocal on the tragedy and has been targetting Yogi Adityanath like no one in the opposition. She has said that the chief minister of UP will have to take the responsibility of protecting the women and keeping them safe.
