Seven District Congress Presidents Named In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, March 1 (TNA) The congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday appointed party chiefs for seven districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to a communique by KC Venugopal, general secretary of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC), Ramji Giri has been named as the new district president of the party of Deoria, Sharad Singh Babloo of Maharajganj, Rajiv Narayan Mishra of Jalaun and Arti Bajpai of Unnao.

Amit Kumar Pandey has been made the district president of the party in Kanpur city, Sheopal Singh o Bulandshahr and Dilpreet Singh of Lucknow city (South).

The party, which has been out of the reckoning for many decades now in Uttar Pradesh is trying to regroup and oil its junked organisational structure and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is actively leading the show.
