Samajwadi Party Workers Cane Charged In Lucknow, Many Injured

LUCKNOW || Workers of the Samajwadi Party (SP) workers were cane charged in the state capital on Monday as they came out of the party office in form of a procession and were headed towards the Hazratganj. The SP workers, along with the students wing of the party were raising anti-government slogans and carrying placards.

A huge posse of police had been deployed near the party office on Vikramaditya Marg and as soon as they started going towards the Hazratganj side the police resorted to a brutal cane charge in which many workers, including women were injured, an eye witness told The News Agency. He further said that this was by far the most brutal cane charge he had seen in recent years on anyone.

The workers were then dispersed and many were taken into custody, packed into a police vehicle and taken away.
