Road Leading To Ram Janma Bhoomi Campus In Ayodhya To Be Named After Kalyan Singh

Lucknow, August 23 (TNA) A road will be named after late former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh in prominent cities of the state, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya announced on Monday.

Maurya, who also holds charge of the Public Works Department (PWD) said that these roads - Kalyan Singh Marg, will be named in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bulandshahr, Ayodhya and Aligarh.

This decision, he added has been taken in view of the colossal work done by the two-time chief minister of UP in the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement. Maurya, also informed that the road leading to the Ram Janma Bhoomi campus in the temple town of Ayodhya, would also be named after the BJP stalwart. Paper work by the PWD will soon be completed in this regard, he further stated.

Singh, 89, passed away after prolonged illness at the SGPGI in Lucknow late on August 21. He is to be cremated later today in Narora in Bulandshahar on the banks of Ganga.
