Powermen Trying To Catch Electricity Theft Assaulted In Lucknow, JE Gets Seven Stitches On Head

Lucknow, June 1 (TNA) A team of powermen who had gone to catch electricity theft in the state capital were brutally assaulted by locals on Wednesday, an official said on Thursday. The junior engineer who was leading the anti-theft squad was brutally beaten with iron sticks. He had to get seven stitches in the his head due to the injury and is being treated at a private hospital.

On Wednesday, the checking squad that went to catch electricity theft on IIM Road was attacked with iron rods by the electricity thieves of Digriya. Many employees including junior engineer were injured in this attack. According to information,

Junior Engineer Ankush Mishra was with the checking squad at Diguria, the area with the most electricity theft. During the initial investigation, the people of the first village laid siege to the squad and started raising slogans and gave an ultimatum to return.

A young man named Shoaib from the village attacked him with sticks and iron rods. Some employees and engineers fled to save their lives but the junior engineer was caught by the villagers and beaten with an iron rod. The police team is trying to nab the attackers. On the other hand, the high officials have also reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured JE.
