One BJP, Five BSP Legislators Join Samajwadi Party

Lucknow, October 30 (TNA) The Samajwadi Party (SP) had its political stocks soaring once again on Saturday as six sitting legislators from otehr parties joined the party fold in presence of the party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

The MLA’s who joined the SP included one from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as well.

Rakesh Rathore, the BJP lawmaker from Sitapur hitched the SP bandwagon along with five otehr Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislators that included Aslam Raini (Shrawasti), Muztabad Siddiqui (Prayagraj), Aslam Ali Chaudhary (Hapur), Hakim Ali Bind (Prayagraj), Sushma Patel (Jaunpur) and Hargvind Bhargava (Sitapur).

There has been an exodus from these parties to the SP in the past with the former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav claiming that this reflected that hw was set to return to power after five years of BJP rule.

Yadav welcomed all these MLA's into the party fold and said BJP was a sinking ship and that the "Bhajpa Pariwaar" would soon become a Bhagta Parivaar".
