Nominations For First Phase Of UP Elections Begin Tomorrow

Lucknow, January 14 (TNA) Notification for the first phase of 58 seats for the 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh will be issued on Friday. With this, the process of elections will start in 11 districts of western Uttar Pradesh. Voting will take place on February 10 and counting of votes on March 10.

Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that the first phase of election process is starting from Friday with free, fair, inclusive, peaceful and safe voting. With the notification, filing of nomination papers will start for 58 assembly seats in 11 districts of the first phase.

Nominations will be done till January 21. Of the total 58 seats, nine seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Shukla said that on February 10, voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm.

He said that tight security arrangements would also be made during the election process. Apart from taking extra vigilance, instructions have been given to keep a close watch on mischievous elements.

In the first phase, Kairana, Thana Bhawan, Shamli, Budhana, Charthaval, Purkaji (SC), Muzaffarnagar, Khatauli, Meerapur, Siwalkhas, Sardhana, Hastinapur (SC), Kithor, Meerut Cantonment, Meerut, Meerut South, Chhaprauli , Baraut, Baghpat, Loni, Muradnagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar, Dhaulana, Hapur (SC), Garhmukteshwar, Noida, Dadri, Jewar, Secunderabad, Sayana, Anupshahr, Dibai, Shikarpur, Khurja (SC), Khair (SC), Barauli, Atrauli, Charra, Kol, Aligarh, Iglas (SC), Chhatra, Mant, Govardhan, Mathura, Baldev (SC), Etmadpur, Agra Cantonment (SC), Agra South , Agra North, Agra Rural (SC), Fatehpur Sikri, Khairagarh, Fatehabad, Bah seats will go to polls.

Last date for nomination - January 21.

Scrutiny of nomination papers - January 24.

Nomination - 27 January.

Voting - February 10.

Only two persons will be able to go with the candidate for nomination. Candidates can apply online through the Suvidha App and submit their copy to the Returning Officer.
