Nitin Agarwal Elected Deputy Speaker Of UP Assembly

Lucknow, Oct 18 (TNA) Nitin Agarwal was on Monday elected the deputy speaker of the Uttar Pradesh state assembly. He is son of former Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Agarwal. He polled 304 votes while the Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate got 60 votes.

Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit announced that total 368 lawmakers took part in the voting and 364 votes were found to be valid while 4 were declared invalid.

UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the election of Agarwal and said that with Dixit as speaker and young Nitin as the deputy sepaker the House had both experience and youthful energy now.
