Navjot Singh Sidhu Detained In Saharanpur On UP-Haryana Border

Saharanpur, Oct 7 (TNA) Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, as per his earlier announcement to lead a protest march to Lakhimpur Kheri, was detained on Thursday at the UP-Haryana border. He was detained by the alrge police force present at Saharanpur after being told that prohibitory orders were in place in Lakhimpur Kheri.

Some cabinet ministers of the Punjab government and otehr state leaders who were accompanying himj were also detained. Nine people died in violence that erupted in Lakhimpur Kheri after a car allegedly belonging to the union minister of state for home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish ploughed into a peaceful protest of farmers in Tikunia.
