Lucknow, Oct 5 (TNA) Close aides of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Varun Gandhi have trashed reports that he has removed the word BJP from his Twitter bio data. The reported move created a flutter in the political circles on Monday, since it came hours after he wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath seeking a CBI probe into the clashes in Lakhimpur Kheri, which left eight, including four farmers dead.

He had also demanded a compensation of Rs one crore for each victim who perished in the violence.

Earlier, tto while thanking the UP government for announcing the enhancing of the support price for sugarcane to ₹ 350 / quintal, he had asked the Yogi government to furtehr hike it to Rs 400 per quintal, keeping in mind the rising costs for farmers and inflation.

Varun Gandhi, one of the most popular leaders in the young lot of the ruling party was earlier an MP from Sultanpur but switched constituencies with his mother who was shifted to Sultanpur and he went to Pilibhit, at the behest of the party leadership. He has shown guts in the past to keep his point forward, something which most BJP leaders cant even think of.
