Moradabad's Kanth Police Station Among Top 10 Police Stations In The Country
Lucknow, December 3, 2020 (TNA) The Kanth Police Station in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh has been ranked 8th. A police station of Goa, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Telangana are also included in this list. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, no major state of North India has been included in this list.
States like Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal lag far behind the UP Police in terms of better policing. These states have not found any place in the list.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has prepared a report of the country's policing system in terms of work. On the basis of the report, the Ministry of Home Affairs has released the list of top-10 police stations in the country.
All the police stations included in Top 10 are from different states. Nongpok Semkai Police Station of Thoubal in Manipur has been ranked first for best work. Tamil Nadu at number two and Arunachal police at number three.
State government spokesman Siddharth Nath Singh credited this to the "humane and proactive approach" of the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath as a big force behind this laurel. The UP Police, which has been maligned for corruption in previous governments, is now being recognised for smart policing, better working culture, transparency and cooperation, he said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is believed to have a direct role behind changing the work culture and image of UP Police.
In the previous governments, the infamous police, notorious for incompetence, tainted for corruption and insensitivity, started changing image and perception with the ascendancy of Yogi in the state. Yogi continuously reviewed the entire process from handing over the command from police stations and outposts to police headquarters to honest officers, the minister said further.
