Mohd Azam Khan Suffers From Fibrosis Of Lungs, Condition Turns Serious

Lucknow, May 25 (TNA) After showing signs of recovery and improvement in health for the past few days, the condition of former UP minister Mohd Azam Khan is stated to have turned critical once again late on Monday night.

According to a medical bulletin issued by Medanta, the medical facility where the Samajwadi Party (SP) leader is undergoing treatment, he has developed fibrosis of the lungs and therefore had to be put on increased oxygen support.

Director of Medanta, Dr Rakesh Kapoor said due to fibrosis, oxygen saturation was fluctuating and he was having problems in breathing. He further informed that a team of critical care experts was monitoring him.

Khan, a vocal leader of the SPand the incumbent Lok Sabha MP from Rampur, had tested positive for COVID on May 1 and had to be later shifted to Medanta from Sitapur jail, where he is lodged, along with his son who is also COVID positive.
