Lucknow Sweats In Hot, Humid Conditions, Light Rains Expected In Next 48-Hours

Lucknow, September 26 (TNA) The state capital woke up to clear skies and bright sunshine on Friday as the day began with intense sunlight pushing temperatures higher and leaving residents battling the heat and humidity.

The meteorological department predicts that the weather will remain largely clear throughout the day, although brief spells of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are possible in the afternoon. Over the next two days, light rain is likely in the city, bringing slight relief from current conditions.

The weatherman forecasts a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 27°C for the day. On Friday, Lucknow recorded a maximum of 34.9°C, which was 1.7°C above average, while the minimum was 26.5°C—2.9°C higher than usual. Several areas experienced light showers during the day, despite the persistent sunlight.

IMD says people should expect the hot and humid conditions to continue, with light rain and thunder likely over the next two days. The city will alternate between sunshine and clouds in the coming week, and the monsoon is expected to withdraw from eastern Uttar Pradesh by September 30.
