Lucknow Metro Logs Another Ridership High, Fastest Post-Covid Lockdown Recovery Pan-India

Lucknow, August 25 (TNA) Lucknow Metro continued to maintain its fast ridership recovery since reopening of metro services on June 9, 2021 post unlock 2. The passenger footfall crossed the 43,000 mark by 10 pm (scheduled end time of passenger service) on Tuesday, which is the highest ridership figure since resumption of metro services, an official said.

These ridership recovery numbers are significant because it shows that Lucknow Metro has successfully recovered more than 60% of its average ridership.

Lucknow Metro has now resumed its services on all days of the week. Earlier Metro Services were not available on weekends due to Covid protocols put in place by the State Government. 

Lucknow Metro has emerged as the first choice of daily commute for the public following all the parameters of sanitization, contactless travel and physical distancing inside metro premises both at the stations an inside trains, the official further said.

Kumar Keshav, MD, UPMRC while expressing his gratitude said he was proud of the Lucknow Metro team for their dedication and commitment in providing a safe, clean, accessible, and convenient passenger service to the people of Lucknow. "I also thank the public for showing immense love and faith after the reopening of metro services in June" he added.
