Kanpur Administration Braces Up For COVID-19 Vaccination Drive

Kanpur, January 5 (TNA) Following instructions of the UP Government, the Divisional Administration of Kanpur is making all necessary preparations well in advance for carrying out the COVID 19 Vaccination campaign, an official said on Tuesday.

Commissioner Kanpur, Raj Shekhar visited the GSVM Medical College campus and reviewed the arrangements for the dry run of the vaccination. The visit was accompanied by Additional Director Health, Principal Medical college, CMO & HoD of Medicine Department (Nodal officer for vaccination for Medical college).

In the 1st phase of vaccination, all the Health workers including Doctors, Nurses & paramedics will be vaccinated. For this around 20 Thousand Health workers have been identified in Kanpur. The data feeding of around 18500 have been completed. The rest will be completed in next 2 days.

In the 3rd phase , persons above age of 50 years will be vaccinated. For this the Number identified in Kanpur is around 5 lakhs. For the 3rd phase, around 250 Vaccination sites/ centres have been identified and necessary advance preparations are being carried out.

For the first phase of vaccination, 100 centres have been identified including Medical college (10 centres), all District Hospitals, all CHC, PHC, some private Hospitals & nursing Homes.

At every centre there will be 5 Members Medicals team for carrying out vaccination successfully. So in total 500 Members medical team is being made ready for the 1st phase of Vaccination. Every centre will handle 100 persons per Day for 1st phase.

One photo ID card & Message on the Registered mobile phone is made mandatory for getting the vaccination. In the 2nd phase, all the Frontline workers like Police force, Administration staff, officers, others who are directly and indirectly related to handling COVID will be vaccinated. The number identified as of now for kanpur is around 50 Thousand. The details are being compiled.

Commissioner Raj Shekhar on Tuesday directed all DM's, CMOs, Principal Medical College to ensure all necessary arrangements well in advance for Smooth & Hassle free vaccination campaign under their personal supervision & Monitoring.
