Interim Bail plea Of Congress Leader Ajay Rai In Sedition Case Rejected

Varanasi, February 11 (TNA) The interim bail application of former MLA and Congress leader Ajay Rai in a sedition case has been rejected. The court however will be hearing on an anticipatory bail on February 15

According to the charges against him, on January 31 Ajay Rai gave a speech at a public meeting without permission in Phulpur police station area. A video of his using inappropriate language against Prime Minister Modi and the Chief Minister went viral on social media.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge VI Siyaram Chaurasia refused to grant interim bail to Ajay Rai, former MLA and Congress candidate from Pindra. Former MLA Ajay Rai had filed a petition in the court for interim bail in the case of various charges, including sedition.

The interim bail application was filed in the court till the completion of anticipatory bail formalities filed by former MLA Ajay Rai.
