LUCKNOW || Gorakhpur recorded the maximum number of deaths - 11, during the past 24-hours, as Coronavirus continued unabated in Uttar Pradesh. It also recorded 234 new patients while the state capital Lucknow 847 and 10 deaths. With this the total number of deaths in Gorakhpur rose to 187 and in Lucknow to 516.
Kanpur city recorded 338 fresh cases in the last 24-hours and seven deaths, Prayagraj 370 and six deaths. Ghaziabad saw 267 new cases while Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of minister Narendra Modi recorded 224 new cases and 3 deaths.
Noida, which had some time back witnessed some drop in Coronavirus cases saw a slight upswing in the last 24-hours with 186 new cases. No death has ben reported however from here in one day. Meerut (233), Bareilly (158), Aligarh (168), Sharanpur (114) and Jhansi with 116 cases are other hot spot districts in the state.
In all, in the past 24-hours, Uttar Pradesh logged 6239 new cases of COVID19 and 80 deaths, taking the total number of dead since March - the month of the pandemic outbreak, to 4429.
