Gonda Police-SOG Arrests Drug Smugglers, 5.51 Quintals Of Marijuana Seized

Gonda, March 10 (TNA) A joint team of Nagar Kotwali Police and SOG has busted a drug racket and arrested four members of the gang. 5.51 quintals of ganja has been recovered from their possession. The estimated cost of the seized drugs is Rs 57 lakh. Rs 20,500 in cash has also been recovered.

Large scale smuggling of illegal drugs was being reported from this region for which Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar had deployed a joint team of police station Kotwali Nagar and SOG.

The four accused who have been arrested have been identified as Safiq Ahmed, Abdul Khalik alias Baba, Brijesh Kumar Yadav and Mandeep Yadav. Charges have been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Police Station Kotwali Nagar.
