French Ambassador To India Emmanuel Lenain Calls On UP Chief Minister

Lucknow, Nov 25 (TNA) The French ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain called on UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Wednesday. The meeting was described as a courtesy call by the envoy.

The two leaders discussed various aspects of the relationships between the two countries and the monk-turned-politician thanked France for the Rafale fighter jets handed over in time to India.

The saffron-robed chief minister also expressed solidarity with France in its fight against terrorism. Yogi also invited French companies to invest in UP, the most populous and promising state of India.

He specially mentioned the Defence Corridor and cyber security as two key areas where France could invest.

Lenain said that France wanted specially to promote with India, specially with UP and said his country invites students from India to study in French varsities.

The visting dignitary also said that with COVID-19 pandemic scarring the world, many French companies were shifting base from China to strengthen their supply chains. In view of this, India was a top priority country for them, he further said.
