Former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh Passes Away
Lucknow, August 21 (TNA) BJP stalwart, hero of the Ram Janma Bhoomi movement of the 90's Kalyan Singh passed away at a medical facility in the state capital late on Saturday. He was 89 and had been battling diabetes and age-related problems for a few months. He was admitted at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) since July 4.
Doctors said he died of sepsis and multi-organ failure. One of the tallest backward leaders of the BJP, he had endeared himself to countless BJP workers for his straight talk and for not being apologetic about the demolition of the disputed Babri mosque in Ayodhya in 1992 when he was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
