Former BJP Minority Wing President Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

Maharajganj, March 11 (TNA) In a significant verdict, a court has sentenced Rahi Masoom Raza, the former president of the BJP Minority Wing in Maharajganj, to life imprisonment. Raza was found guilty under charges of rape, murder, SC/ST Act, and POCSO Act.

The incident occurred in September 2023 when a man from Sant Kabir Nagar, along with his four daughters and a son, moved to Maharajganj for work and rented a room from Raza.

On the night of August 28, while the father was away at his street cart, Raza entered the room and attempted to rape one of the daughters. When the father returned and tried to intervene, Raza dragged him outside and killed him.

The victim filed a complaint, and after Raza briefly fled to Nepal, he was arrested and brought to court. The verdict marks a significant legal outcome in the case.
